Using Hollister New Image 9" 2-Piece Drainable Ostomy Bag Clip

The Hollister New Image 9" 2-Piece Drainable Ostomy Bag typically comes with a plastic clip used to close the bag once it has been emptied. Here's a general step-by-step guide on how to use the clip:

  1. Empty the bag: When the ostomy bag is full or needs to be emptied, locate the bottom outlet of the bag. This is where the clip will be used.
  2. Open the clip: The clip is designed to slide or snap open. Look for a tab or a small lever on the clip. Depending on the design, you may need to push, slide, or lift the lever to open the clip fully.
  3. Close the clip: Once you have emptied the contents of the bag, gently fold the bottom of the bag upwards to ensure a clean closure. Place the folded end of the bag into the opening of the clip. Ensure that the bag is aligned correctly within the clip to avoid any leakage.
  4. Secure the clip: With the bag correctly placed in the clip, push, slide, or snap the lever back into a closed position. You should hear or feel a click when the clip is securely closed.
  5. Double-check: After closing the clip, run your fingers along the edge of the clip to make sure it is completely sealed. This helps to prevent any potential leakage.
