Covidien Xeroform – Petrolatum Gauze Dressing (Sterile) is an occlusive dressing impregnated with 3% bismuth tribromophenate in a petrolatum blend which creates a bacteriostatic protection. The bacteriostatic protection also helps to control wound odors. The patrolatum gauze mesh in Xeroform allows the dressing to stick and conform to the surrounding skin, without actually adhering to the wound. It is a non-adherent dressing ideal for covering and protecting surgical incisions, lacerations, light to medium exudate wounds, first and second degree burns, and abrasions. Xeroform provides an air and water tight seal for the wound to create a moist healing environment. Cover with a secondary gauze dressing to hold in place.
