SUR-FIT Natura - Durahesive Moldable Skin Barrier with Flange is an ostomy wafer that can be molded to fit around the stoma. The durahesive moldable material swells up and "turtlenecks" around the stoma, this helps protect the surrounding stomal skin from the liquid output. This product is designed to be used by people who have an ileostomy. However, it can be used as a colostomy bag as well. This specific Sur-Fit wafer is flat so it doesn't have any convexity. It is also oval shaped so it will work even if you have an irregularly shaped stoma. Not every stoma is perfectly round so sometimes you need an ostomy wafer that has an oblong opening. Convatec uses special materials to make their Durahesive wafers, they are moldable, they don't break down when they come in contact with output, and they can be molded to create a custom fit, even around oval stomas. Custom fit without having to cut the wafer or measure your stoma. This ostomy wafer works with stoma that are sized between 1 3/4" and 2 1/8", the flange size is 2 3/4".
