Cymed Ile-Sorb Absorbent Gel Packets are designed to turn stoma output into a uniform gel. Ile-Sorb can be used inside a colostomy bag but it will work best and be the most useful inside of an ileostomy bag. To use Ile-Sorb simply drop the entire packet inside of your ostomy bag before it is attached to your ostomy wafer or your abdomen. The plastic like film will dissolve when it comes into contact with fluid. The granules inside the small packet interact with the stoma output in your bag and make that same output into a consistent gel. Absorbent packets help to reduce the sound of sloshing liquid and they also make the pouch easier to drain. Another benefit to gel packets is that they help keep the output at the bottom of the ostomy bag and away from your ostomy wafer. This item is sold in a box of 90 or in a larger box of 135.
