Derma Sciences Medihoney - Calcium Alginate Wound and Burn Dressing contains 95% active leptospermum honey made from the manuka tree (aka tea tree). This medical grade honey wound dressing originated in New Zealand and Australia. Latex Free. Size: 2" x 2", 4" x 5". Each, box and case.

These alginate wound dressings help maintain a moist environment during all phases of the healing process (aka honey healing). Ideal for use with diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers (I-IV), 1st and 2nd degree burns, donor sites, traumatic wounds, and surgical wounds. Helps in the management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds.

How does the Alginate Wound and burn dressing work?
The honey is impregnated into a calcium alginate dressing. Then, as the wound fluid, blood, or tissue enters the dressing, the honey is released, the dressing absorbs and forms a gel, creating an optimal honey healing environment. Wound dressings are easily removed without disrupting the wound bed.

Medihoney is considered a global leader of medical grade honey products for the management of wounds and burns.
