Medline - Bariatric Transport Chair is a lightweight wheelchair with smaller wheels in the front and larger wheels in the rear. Transport chairs offer a low-cost alternative to more expensive standard wheelchairs. Each chair is designed to be pushed by someone other than the user. These chairs are commonly used in hospital and home settings. The larger rear wheels make the chair easier to push. Caregivers can easily carry transport chairs in a vehicle and it can be stored in a trunk of a car. They can also be used around the house with little difficulty.

The Medline Bariatric Transport chair has a large 22" x 18" seat made of breathable nylon for maximum comfort. Each chair has a sturdy frame that holds up to 500 pounds. Each arm is padded with removable desk-length arms and detachable swing-away footrests. Other features include 12" rear wheels, 8" front wheels, seat belt, handbrakes and wheel lock for better control. The frame comes in a deep red Hammertone finish. Sold by the each.

There are two types of people who use these chairs: those who have a mobility issue that will not allow them to use a standard wheelchair and those who do not need a standard wheelchair long-term. In each case, these chairs are much easier to use than standard wheelchairs and are less of a burden for the caregiver to push around. Works well in areas where space is limited.

This is a heavy duty transport chair that has a higher weight capacity (500 lbs) than other transport chairs. The actual product weight is 44.75 pounds. It is easier to use than standard wheelchairs. There is less work and movement required to use one of these chairs.
