Portex Thermovent*T Heat and Moisture Exchangers are sterile, single use for up to 24 hours, each piece is individually packaged. HMEs provide effective humidification for spontaneously breathing patients whose upper airways are bypassed by a tracheostomy tube. The simple opening port can be used for simple and easy access for a suction catheter, to help remove secretions. The housing is clear so it is easy to see if there is contamination.
