Transfer Boards

Transfer boards make it safe and easy for wheelchair users to move from their chair to the bed, car, other chair, or toilet. One end of the board is slid under the user while they are in their wheelchair and the other end is placed on the surface they are moving to. The wheelchair user can then scoot their body along the length of the board or a caregiver can help them do so. These slide boards come in a variety of shapes, lengths, and materials to suit your needs. Some medical transfer boards have holes cut out of them that act as handles for the user to stablize themselves while transferring.

BeasyTrans makes a unique type of transfer board that has a built in swiveling seat that makes it even easier for wheelchair users to move from different surfaces. This type of board eliminates the need for the person to scoot themselves along the length of the board. They may even be able to transfer alone without an additional person to help. The Beasy transfer board is available in three different configurations to choose from.

Another tool that can be helpful for people with limited mobility is a tub transfer bench. This product helps people shower independently. It has four legs, two of which sit at the bottom of the bathtub and two that sit outside the bathtub. The bench seat straddles the wall of the bathtub, allowing the user to slide across the seat to enter the shower. Tub benches have a back rest for comfort and handles tha provide extra stability. Shower benches are available with a padded seat or a commode seat for people with incontinence. We also carry a transfer bench with a sliding seat for even easier entry.
