Medline Optifoam Gentle LQ Silicone-Faced Foam Sacral Dressing is available in two different sizes and it is specifically shaped to be worn on the lower back or sacral area of the body. Optifoam Gentle Silicone-Faced Foam Dressing with Liquitrap Super Absorbent Core is intended for shallow and/or deep wounds with moderate to heavy drainage. Optifoam Gentle LQ can be worn for up to 7 days, drainage needs to be checked and the dressing will need to be changed more often depending on drainage. Optifoam Gentle helps ease the painful discomfort of dressing changes because it uses a skin friendly silicone adhesive. Highly conformable foam dressing with gentle adhesive that can be lifted up and reapplied. The dressing has a specially-formulated adhesive that helps keep it in place without sticking to the wound bed. Optifoam’s absorbent core absorbs and retains fluid while it helps prevent shear and frictions which can delay healing. This wound dressing can be used with partial and full-thickness wounds. It is not intended for third-degree burns.

Where is the sacral area of the body?
The sacrum area of the body refers to the area just above what is commonly referred to as the "tailbone", this bony area is prone to pressure wounds. Anytime you have an area of the body with the underlying bones close to the surface of the skin you run the risk of developing a pressure sore in that area. Sacral dressings fit this area of the body better than standard square or rectangle dressings.

Available in two sizes, 7" x 7" and 9" x 9". Sold in a box of 5. Latex free. Waterproof outer layer.
