Citrus II

Citrus II by Beaumont is a line of sanitizing products and odor eliminators. These include hand sanitizer, CPAP mask cleaning wipes, and room air fresheners. All of these products use the power of natural citrus to neutralize odors and provide a fresh scent. The hand sanitizer is a moisturizing gel that kills germs on contact without drying out the skin. It is convenient to use when soap and water are not available. Citrus II CPAP mask wipes eliminate oil buildup and residue from masks and tubing. These wipes are free of alcohol, so they will not damage the mask. Room odor eliminators are available in a solid format as well as a spray. The solid air freshener can be left in a room for up to 60 days. The spray is useful when using an ostomy system, helping patients with incontinence, or caring for wounds.

Using an Ostomy Deodorant is another way to eliminate odor from your ostomy system. Simply put a few drops of the liquid formula into the pouch before use to stop odor. We carry deodorants that also double as lubricants, giving the pouch a slippery interior. This keeps the two sides of the ostomy pouch from adhering to one another, known as pancaking. The slick surface also allows the output to flow to the bottom of the pouch instead of staying around your stoma, which can irritate the skin. Another way to prevent odor is to take a chewable oral tablet. This product contains bismuth subgallate to neutralize odors. It is FDA cleared and does not require a prescription for use.

Another way to prevent and eliminate odors from your ostomy pouch is to use deodorizing filters from Coloplast Ostomy. These ostomy filters contain charcoal and carbon to neutralize the gas odor that is released from your ostomy pouch. Some ostomy pouches have a filter built in, but using an external adhesive filter provides additional protection against odor. Simply place the filter on the outside of the pouch and use the pin to perforate the filter and the outside layer of the ostomy pouch.
